Interior Design | Landscape Design

Boulder and Metro Denver, Colorado

What do you want from your interior spaces? Most interior design clients answer: I want it to show my personality, and I want to feel comfortable and make my home cozy for visitors.

Spatial Relations, Life-Enhancing Design™, is about considered sensations of harmonious spaces that create a sense of calm and rest versus unfinished and cluttered environments—a constant reminder of all that is uncomfortable and undone in our world.

The difference such an environment creates is palpable, and it’s the difference between surface and depth. At Spatial Relations Interior + Exterior Design, we want to support the healthy flow of motion and rest you want in your home or a life-enhanced by design. We work to create rooms that reflect your lives, hopes, dreams, and personality. So we listen intently in our first meeting to understand your wants and needs. We then translate your opinions and emotions into fabric, furniture, lighting, and accessories to create an environment that suits your lifestyle.

Working with you, we will explain the pragmatic aspects of design and clarify the core issues in your space (the reasons it is not as pleasing as it could be). The rationale for interior design decisions will become clear. Our goal is to create spaces that transcend their material properties to fulfill wellness environments and the human need to be nurtured by our environments—energized to live your most vivid and joyful life.

Spatial Relations Interior + Exterior Design provides wellness and an intentional approach to interior design for how you live. Let us help you create the environment for your best life, health, and home.

Hunter Keefer Margolf and Stephen Lappen bring decades of experience and continuing education to their work as the principals of Spatial Relations. Hunter’s expertise is in interior and exterior design and fine art. He is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design (BFA in industrial design, furniture, and sculpture) and of Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan (MFA ID industrial design).

Since then, he has gone on to earn certificates in interior design, floral design, space planning, and other disciplines. He brings all of this learning and application to bear on design projects for clients. As you’ll see from exploring this website, his imagination and ability to execute design concepts are impressive.

He works with Design Principal Stephen Lappen, who has an innate ability to see and understand spatial relations and to bring principles of the marketplace into play. Stephen is a Realtor and has years of experience renovating houses in the Metro Denver area.

Together, these partners share a love of designed spaces as well as a knowledge of how to combine color, texture, form, and feel to create.
